Greenscape Inc. utilizes landscape design services of former team member

Raleigh, NC – Former Greenscape Inc. employee Adam Southwell recently founded his own landscape architecture firm, Southwell Design, after earning the designation North Carolina Registered Landscape Architect earlier this year.

"I have always been drawn to art and the outdoors. Landscape design is a perfect combination of the two and I cannot imagine doing anything else," says Southwell. "The requirements to become a Registered Landscape Architect (RLA) in North Carolina are fairly stringent. I began working on the certification eight years ago and was approved earlier this year. Starting my own business is another adventure on the path, one I hope will allow me to continue to make North Carolina beautiful." Minimum requirements for the RLA include a specified course curriculum, at least four years of professional experience and the successful completion the L.A.R.E. national exam. In addition, RLA's must meet ongoing education requirements and a mandatory annual license renewal.

"We are proud of Adam for earning his RLA license," says Daniel Currin, President of Greenscape, Inc. "Adam is an extremely talented landscape professional. He worked for Greenscape for eight years before striking out on his own. We have a solid working relationship and plan to continue to use Adam's landscape design services." Greenscape is presently the firm's largest client.

Making Your Website Run Like a High Performance Engine

Jun. 16, 2013 - (By Lou Amico of L.A. Management Company in Charlotte)

Your website represents your company and brand. For many, it's the customer's first impression of your business. Jimmie Johnson doesn't win NASCAR races without a superior high performance race car and your company won't win business without a high performance website. Here are some tips to create a website that outperforms your competition.

Start with a search engine friendly content management system platform.

Build or move your site to a full-service, content management system (CMS) platform. There are many open source content management platforms, including WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, and more. A search engine friendly CMS allows for easy content updates to keep the website current and relevant. A good CMS also allows users without programming knowledge to write search engine relevant title and Meta tags. These tags are HTML codes that are inserted into the header on a web page. The Meta description tag and the Meta keywords tag are not seen by users. Instead, these tags main purpose is providing document data to search engines.

Using keyword rich URL's, title tags, descriptions, and image alt text will allow search engines to easily follow the content on your site and index it for future online searches for your product or service.   More »
