2. Removing Pests
Be sure to waste no time in removing the pesky insects after identifying which ones are the intruders. One advantage of hiring seasoned Cary exterminator is the fact you don’t have to be bothered about any environmental or health impacts of the products used.
Regardless of the problem you’re facing, Stomp Pest Control is here to help. In most cases, regarding your Cary Pest Control project, you can expect to see a significant and noticeable reduction in pest activity within one to two days. The specific timeframe depends on the insect we’re dealing with along with the choice of resources needed to provide the best long-term results. With that being said, it is common to notice a gradual reduction for a few weeks. If you notice pest activity after a week, please contact you Cary Pest Exterminator to set up a follow-up service.
The varied carpet beetle can be a serious household pest. In its larvae form, it feeds on natural fibers including clothing, furniture, and carpets. As you can imagine, it damages what it eats.
The varied carpet beetle has an unusually long life cycle for an insect, spanning from 1-3 years. Infestations can be prevented by regularly vacuuming, using mothballs in closets, and removing old bird and insect nests attached to the house or building. If you find that you have a varied carpet beetle infestation, the use of insecticides is a very effective way to rid your home of these pests.
The American Dog Tick prefers dogs (shocker) as their host, but they will gladly feed on larger animals, including humans. This tick goes through an egg, larva, nymph, and adult stage during its lifetime. Although they can be found year-round, adult dog ticks are usually found between April and May. Dog ticks do not transmit Lyme disease, but they are the main carrier of Rocky Mountain spotted fever in the Midwest states.
Outdoor tick control is difficult, and while there are some insecticides labeled for outdoor tick control, the most effective way to discourage a large tick population is to change the habitat. Ticks generally thrive in bushy, heavily wooded areas, so reducing that “prime real estate” on your property would be wise if you have tick issues.
Are there small flies hovering around in your house? A teaspoon of moisture is all you need for an infestation, which many people do not know.
Several of the most common small flies you will encounter are:
- Fruit Flies
- Phorid Flies
- Drain/Moth Flies
- Fungus Gnats
The following are steps you can take in decreasing the population:
- Keep garbage cans and drains clean
- Wipe counters clean after every use
- Place produce in the refrigerator as much as possible
- Keep doors that lead to the outside of the house closed
- Keep windows closed – unless there are good screens on them
- Avoid over-watering potted plants
- Clean up debris from fruit trees, and the like, around the home
- Clean out gunk build-up under appliances on a regular basis
Joseph Zulick is a writer and strategist at TheeCommerce. Small flies are difficult to deal with, at times, but these steps, along with our treatments, will ensure that the population doesn’t get out of hand.
