Raleigh, NC – April 16, 2018: WHAT: The Raleigh Dream Center (RDC) has been awarded a grant for $10,000 from Ronald McDonald House Charities of North Carolina (RMHC of NC) to fund the expansion of their after-school KidzJam Program and to launch a new RDC Tutoring Program.
The RDC, started by husband and wife team Jeremy and Candace Porras, opened its doors in 2014 to provide resources and support for under-privileged communities in the Triangle area. Their work with local children includes a 36-week after-school program that provides a safe and positive environment for play and learning, as well as a new tutoring program to help promote academic success.
“The Raleigh Dream Center has made an incredible impact in our community over the past 4 years,” said Barry Traub, local McDonald’s Owner/Operator and member of the RDC board. “It is our honor to partner with an organization that does so much to support and advocate for children in under-privileged communities.”
