RALEIGH, NCApril 11, 2018 – General managers at two Wake County McDonald’s were recently recognized for their years of service. Reginald “Thaabit” Hedgepeth and Donald “Don” Norton started working for the Huebner Family McDonald’s organization 10 years ago and now manage and lead more than 50 employees at each of their restaurants.

Hedgepeth has worked with the Golden Arches since 2006 when he was referred by a friend while furthering his education. He is currently the general manager at the McDonald’s on 50 Glen Rd. in Garner. To honor his work and dedication to the brand, he was awarded the McDonald’s Outstanding Manager Award, a national award given to those who showcase tremendous leadership and service to their restaurant and community. When asked what he appreciated most about his job, he responded with the Archways to Opportunities program. The McDonald’s program provides tuition assistance that allows him to virtually attend Colorado Technical University, where he is currently enrolled.

Norton has worked with the Golden Arches for 15 years. Since joining the Huebner Organization 10 years ago, he has worked his way up the ranks to become the general manager of the McDonald’s at 6320 Battle Bridge Rd. in Raleigh. Norton has had the opportunity to take part in numerous training classes to improve his skills in managing people and running the restaurant. He is even a graduate of Hamburger University!

Both general managers cite support from their supervisors and team members as important factors in their success. Norton said, “I love what I do, but I couldn’t do it without my McFamily supporting me every step of the way.”

“We love being able to celebrate our people and thank them for all they do,” said Doris Huebner, Owner/Operator of 13 local McDonald’s. “We’re so very proud of Don and Thaabit and greatly appreciate their dedication to our organization.”
